Cookie policy

This policy explains how Simplaa uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and apps, and the choices you have about them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the site work properly, remember your preferences and understand how the site is being used. Similar technologies, such as local storage, are used for the same purposes, and this policy covers those too.

Cookies we use

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are essential for the website to function — for example, keeping you signed in, remembering a booking in progress and protecting the site against fraud and abuse. They cannot be switched off.
  • Preference cookies. These remember choices you make, such as your language or region, so you don't have to set them again on each visit.
  • Analytics cookies. These help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular and how people move around — so we can improve it. The information collected is aggregated.
  • Advertising cookies. These are set by the advertising platforms we use, so we can measure how many people book a ride after seeing one of our adverts. They also let those platforms show our adverts to people who are likely to be interested.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services we use to run the site, such as payment providers, mapping services and analytics providers. These third parties process the data they collect in accordance with their own privacy policies.

The analytics and advertising services we use are Google, through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, and Meta, through the Meta Pixel, which covers Facebook and Instagram.

Google Tag Manager loads on every page so that we can check our own setup, but it is told to store nothing, and it sets no cookies and records nothing about you until you allow analytics. The Meta Pixel does not load at all until you allow advertising. If you turn a permission off again, we delete the cookies that were set while it was on.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. You can usually find these controls under “Privacy” or “Security” in your browser's options. Bear in mind that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working — for example, signing in or completing a booking.

You can also change what you allow on this site at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site and the technologies we use change. Any updates will be published on this page.
